How can PROM/SE help me?
In essence, PROM/SE is about helping you help yourself learn more about teaching and learning mathematics and science. It begins with detailed data on what your students really know and understand about specific topics in these subjects, and how this compares to your district's curriculum and your state's standards. It includes important information about the amount of time spent on particular topics and how well that time allocation translates into student achievement toward state standards.
Based on these data, PROM/SE will then provide and support you in designing a powerful set of professional development experiences that fit your particular mathematics and science needs- what you need, when you need it. PROM/SE Mathematics and Science Associates- teachers in your building with special training- can help you choose these experiences, and connect to other teachers just like you across the partnership to share questions, strategies and support in a new and effective community with increased capacity to learn.
