Thom Glasovatz, a PROMSE Associate and science teacher at Waverly High School in Ingham County Intermediate School District, Michigan, is on a mission to nurture and shape students into scientifically literate citizens. PROM/SE Associate Patricia Shelley is a science teacher at Williamston High School in the Ingham County Intermediate School District, Michigan. She sees herself as a facilitator of scientific knowledge and wants to ensure that every student coming through her doors will have the tools to be very competitive in order to make their dreams a reality.

Meet an Associate: Renee Everling

This year PROM/SE Associate Renee Everling was awarded the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching. This is the nation’s highest honor for educators in these disciplines. In her classroom at J.F. Burns Elementary in Kings Mills, Ohio Everling combines her experience with the wealth of information and exposure gained from being a PROM/SE Associate to create innovative hands-on science lessons that allow students to not only learn science, but make it their own. Her district is a member of the High AIMS Consortium.
